Core shop
irobotics supplies turnkey robot cells for the processing and production of sand cores, sand core packages or lost foam products. You receive your automation system from a single source: from complete system construction to conveyor technology, system control and programming through to documentation including CE declaration of conformity.
Pick and place/assembly gripper
The assembly grippers are used to join components and are adapted to the application. Pneumatic or electric clamping elements are used for gripping products via force fit or contour.
Hole gripper
Sand cores can be clamped and positioned over holes using hole gripper units. The pitch can be adjusted in the x and y directions or, depending on the application, set using servo drives. Optionally, the hole gripper units can be mounted on compensating elements.
Suction hood
Suction hood for moving delicate and sensitive sand cores. Type-specific suction masks can be picked up and changed automatically. The suction mask is adapted to the core contour and can move the sand cores extremely gently thanks to the optimum fit. The suction unit is either mobile, installed directly on the robot or stationary.
Sizing gripper
The sizing gripper clamps sand cores or sand core packages and immerses them in a sizing basin. The range of sizing grippers extends from a handling weight of small parts up to 600 kg core packages (e.g. complete truck engine blocks). The sizing grippers can be offered for all product groups (e.g. brake disk sizing grippers with integrated rotary feedthroughs).
Sizing basin
The sizing basins can be supplied in all versions according to customer requirements, e.g. with propeller, swivel rake, pure flow circulation or even with submersible pumps. Supplied with sumps in accordance with WHG. Sizing preparation with viscosity testing is also available as an option. For immersion applications, talc wetting including basin can also be offered.
Gripper cleaning
If the gripper jaws are submerged during the coating process (come into contact with coating liquid), they must be cleaned cyclically. Depending on the application, cleaning basins with fixed brushes, rotating brush systems or high-pressure systems can be supplied for this purpose.
Deburring templates
The contour of the sand cores is deburred using stationary deburring templates. The robot presses the cores through the templates. Alternatively, the deburring process can also be carried out by an integrated lifting mechanism in the deburring station. The deburring templates can be changed manually and can be exchanged when the product is changed. The stationary deburring stations can also be combined with drilling units operated in parallel.
Robot deburring
Filigree contours can be removed with deburring tools. Depending on the application, several deburring robots can be used in parallel. The deburring program can be freely programmed and stored for different products.
Drilling station
Stationary drilling stations can be used to drill ventilation and screw holes in sand cores. Various drill diameters and lengths are possible. The drilling station is optionally available with direct drill dust extraction and drill breakage control. Drilling units can be flexibly mounted on the robot or stationary with type-specific interchangeable drilling cassettes.
Lasering / Labeling
Numbers, texts, characters, etc. are applied to sand cores in the labeling systems according to customer specifications. The lettering is lasered or nailed/engraved. We supply complete laser cabins with leak test and expert opinion.
Cleaning / Dry ice
In cleaning cells, tools (upper and lower boxes) are blasted with dry ice using a robot. The system consists of loading and unloading stations, robots, a dry ice unit and a soundproof cabin. The systems are adapted to customer requirements.
